Our U9 emerged Champions in their category with the Coach clinching the best coach award , while our U13 finished in second place with our player baging the best player award in the category. Junior Starlets Secure Historic First Win at FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, Finish 3rd in Group C

October 24, 2024  Communications The Junior Starlets recorded their first-ever victory at the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, defeating Mexico 2-1 on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez stadium. Junior Starlets wasted no time in making their mark and in the 15th minute, Valerie Nekesa fired Kenya into the lead, finishing a well-crafted move initiated by Joan Ogola.   In the 36th minute, Lornah Faith doubled the lead with a brilliant finish, once again assisted by the ever-present Nekesa. This capped off the halftime score with a 2-0 lead. Mexico pushed back in the second half, searching for a way to claw back into the game. They finally broke through in the 90th minute with a late penalty goal from Alexa Soto, but the Junior Starlets’ defense stood firm under pressure, ensuring the match ended 2-1 in Kenya’s favor.  October 18, 2024  Communications The Junior Starlets are set to make their historic debut on the world stage as Head Coach Mildred Cheche names her starting lineup for the team’s first-ever FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup match against England. Velma Abwire will guard the goalposts, backed by a solid defense led by Captain Elizabeth Ochaka, alongside Christine Adhiambo, Diana Anyango, and Lorine Ilavonga. The midfield will be orchestrated by the quartet of Halima Imbachi, Rebecca Odato, Lindey Weey Atieno, and Lorna Faith, who will be tasked with controlling the game’s tempo and creating scoring opportunities. Upfront, Marion Serenge and Valerie Nekesa will lead the attack, aiming to pierce through England’s defense with their speed and precision. The match kicks off at 2 am EAT at the Estadio Cibao Stadium in the Dominican Republic, marking a monumental moment as Kenya’s Junior Starlets embark on their World Cup journey.

Junior Starlets Make History by Qualifying for Maiden World Cup  June 16, 2024  Communications   The Junior Starlets have achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first Kenyan national team to qualify for a World Cup. This remarkable feat follows their 5-0 aggregate victory over Burundi in the fourth and final round of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers. The decisive match took place on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex. Kenya entered the game with a three-goal advantage from their first-leg encounter in Ethiopia. Marion Serenge opened the scoring in the 17th minute, giving Kenya an early lead. Just four minutes later, Valerie Nekesa doubled the advantage, effectively securing Kenya’s place in the global stage.
